Mailbird Next includes personalization options that help you make accounts, folders, conversations, and the overall workspace easier to recognize at a glance.
🎨 Personalization features
-
Favorite Folders lets you pin your most-used folders to the top of the sidebar by clicking on the Star.
- Custom account colors help you identify which account a message belongs to, especially in Unified Inbox.
-
Custom account avatars let you upload an image to distinguish accounts in the left menu.
- Downloaded contact and account avatars can fetch profile pictures from services such as Gravatar, Google, Microsoft, and favicons.
- Theme color customization lets you personalize the look of Mailbird Next.
-
Group unread conversations at the top helps you find unread mail faster.
🧭 Where to look
- Open Settings in Mailbird Next.
- Check Appearance, Accounts, and Folders in the Settings menu for all available personalization options.
-
For account-specific options, select the desired email account in the Accounts section of the Settings menu, and the click on Account details.
- Return to the inbox and confirm the change appears as expected.
⚠️ Limitations
- Downloaded avatars depend on whether a matching image is available from the supported avatar source.
- Provider or contact images can change outside Mailbird Next.
- Custom colors and avatars are visual helpers; they do not change the email account or provider settings.
- Favorite folders and unread grouping affect how Mailbird Next displays your inbox, not how your provider stores mail.
If any of these personalization features does not work or behave as expected, please contact the Customer Happiness Team. Please let us know what your Mailbird Next version, operating system, affected account type, and a detailed explanation of what is or is not happening.
