Mailbird Next includes several attachment tools for adding files to outgoing messages, previewing received attachments, saving files, and managing downloaded attachment data.
📎 Attachment features
-
Add attachments by selecting files or dragging files into a compose window.
- Attachment Quick Preview lets you preview supported attachments without fully opening them in another app.
-
Pin attachments to the top of a message so important files are easier to find in long conversations.
- Drag attachments to Finder to save received files quickly on macOS.
- Save all attachments helps save multiple attachments while avoiding accidental overwrites in the same folder.
-
Delete cached attachments can free up local storage. Simply right-click on the attachment and choose "Delete from cache".
🧭 Common workflows
- Open the message or compose window that contains the attachment workflow you need.
- Use the attachment icon, attachment menu, preview option, or drag-and-drop action shown in your version of Mailbird Next.
- If saving files, choose the destination folder and confirm the files saved correctly.
- If freeing up space, remove cached attachment data when you no longer need the local copy. This will only work for emails you have received.
⚠️ Limitations
- Preview support depends on the attachment file type and the viewer available on your device.
- Deleting cached attachments removes the local downloaded copy, not necessarily the original file on the mail server.
- Large attachments can fail to send if they exceed your email provider’s size limits.
- Some attachment downloads may be blocked by antivirus, firewall, provider restrictions, or local storage permissions.
