Mailbird Next includes several layout options so you can choose how much of your inbox, conversation list, and message content you want visible at once.

🪟 Available layout options

• Column Layout organizes the inbox in a column-based view for a compact, familiar email layout.
• Horizontal Layout gives more horizontal reading space and is useful on wide displays.
• Fullscreen Layout, also called Focus Mode in earlier release notes, gives the message view more room for reading.
• Minimal Layout collapses the app down to a conversation-list-only view for a compact, distraction-free workspace.

💡 Tip: If you do not see one of the layout options below, update Mailbird Next first. Some layouts were added in later releases.

💡 Tip: You can also choose how to display the lefthand sidebar menu when deciding the layout of Mailbird Next:

•  Menu collapsed — keeps the left navigation slim/collapsed. You see less sidebar detail, giving more space to the email list and message view.
• Menu expanded — shows the main left menu expanded, so labels like folders/apps are more visible without needing to hover or click.
• Menu + full folder list — expands the menu and also shows the full mailbox folder list, so folders are always visible in the left sidebar. This takes the most horizontal space but gives the quickest folder access.

⚙️ How to change layout

1. Open Mailbird Next.
2. Open Settings.
3. Go to Appearance or the layout-related settings available in your version.
4. Choose the layout you want to use.

⚠️ Limitations

• Available layouts can depend on your Mailbird Next version and screen size.
• Some full-screen app views, such as Calendar or Contacts, may temporarily hide the email view until you return to your inbox.
• Minimal Layout is designed for scanning the conversation list. It is not intended to expose every toolbar, folder, or message-view action at once.
• If the sidebar is expanded extra wide, some labels and navigation behavior may differ from the compact sidebar.
