📬 Overview

One of the most powerful productivity tools in Mailbird Next is the Email Tracking feature. It lets you see who opened your emails and when—without compromising your privacy or security.

Only you can view your tracking data. Mailbird does not store, share, or have access to any tracking information.

đź“„Email Tracking at a Glance

Availability by license type:

  • Free: Not included
  • Standard: Up to 5 tracked emails per month.
  • Premium: Unlimited tracking

đź’ˇ The Standard license is no longer for sale. The information listed in this article regarding this type of license is in the interest of customers who previously purchased this license before it was discontinued.

Information tracked:

  • Who opened the email.

  • When it was opened.

Information not tracked:

  • Email content.

  • Recipient location.

⚠️ Limitations of Email Tracking

While Email Tracking works reliably in most situations, certain factors can affect its accuracy:

  • If a recipient has remote images disabled, tracking will not work.

  • Apple Mail Privacy Protection may cause false “opened” reports due to automatic preloading.

  • For Microsoft Exchange group emails, Mailbird cannot track which individual recipients opened the message.

🔧 How to Enable or Disable Email Tracking

Turning Email Tracking on or off is quick and easy:

  • Click the Settings (gear) icon in the left-hand sidebar.

  • In Settings, open the Privacy Hub tab and locate the Track sent emails toggle.

  • Switch the toggle on or off as needed.

Note: You can change this setting at any time.

📊 How to Read Email Tracking Status

After sending a tracked email, you can check its status in your Sent folder or Inbox by looking at the checkmarks next to the email:

  • Two grey checkmarks – Email not opened.

  • One blue checkmark – Some recipients opened it.

  • Two blue checkmarks – All recipients opened it.

Hover over the checkmarks to see more details.

You can also view tracking information in the email preview pane by selecting the tracked email—tracking details will appear in the checkmark indicators.
