πŸ“¬ Overview

One of the most powerful productivity tools in Mailbird for Mac is its Email Tracking feature. It helps you know who opened your emails and when, without compromising on privacy or security.

Only you can view tracking data. Mailbird does not store, share, or have access to your tracking information.

πŸ‘€ Email Tracking at a Glance

Here’s what you need to know:

Available with the following Mailbird licenses:

  • Free: ❌ Not included.

  • Standard: βœ… Up to 5 tracked emails per month.

  • Premium: βœ… Unlimited tracking.

What information is tracked?

  • βœ… Who opened the email.

  • βœ… When it was opened.

  • ❌ No email content or recipient location is ever tracked.

⚠️ Limitations of Email Tracking

While Email Tracking will work seamlessly in most cases, certain conditions can affect its accuracy:

  • πŸ“§ Remote images disabled: If a recipient blocks remote images, email tracking won’t work.

  • 🍎 Apple Mail Privacy Protection: Apple Mail may show a false β€œopened” status due to automatic preloading.

  • πŸ’Ό Microsoft Exchange (group emails): Mailbird can't track which individual recipients opened the message.

πŸ”§ How to Enable or Disable Email Tracking

Turning Email Tracking on or off is incredibly simple:

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the left-hand sidebar.

  2. Under Settings, go to Advanced tab and find the Email Tracking toggle.

  3. Click the toggle to enable or disable tracking.

πŸ“Œ Note: You can change this setting at any time.

πŸ“Š How to Read Email Tracking Status

After sending a tracked email, you can view its status in your Sent folder or Inbox. You’ll see checkmarks next to the email:

  • βœ… Two grey checkmarks – Email not opened.

  • βœ… One blue checkmark – Some recipients opened it.

  • βœ… Two blue checkmarks – All recipients opened it.

πŸ–± Hover over the checkmarks with your mouse cursor to see more tracking information.

You can also view tracking info in the email preview pane. Just click the tracked email, and tracking details will appear via the abovementioned checkmarks.
