🔐 Add a Microsoft 365 Account to Mailbird Next (Using OAuth 2.0)

If you have a Microsoft 365 (also known as Office 365) account, you can easily connect it to Mailbird Next using OAuth 2.0 (modern authentication), a secure and streamlined login method.

🧭 How to Add a Microsoft 365 Account Using Modern OAuth 2.0

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon in the bottom-left corner of Mailbird Next.

  2. Go to Settings → Accounts → Add account.

  3. Select Microsoft 365 from the list.

  4. You’ll be redirected to the Microsoft login page.

  5. Log in using your credentials.

  6. Afterwards, return to Mailbird Next: your account should now be ready to use.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • Mailbird Next will automatically use OAuth 2.0 for Microsoft 365 accounts.

  • OAuth 2.0 is fully supported for:

    • Microsoft 365 business accounts.

    • Personal Outlook accounts (e.g., @outlook.com, @hotmail.com).

    • OAuth 2.0 is NOT supported for on-premise Exchange server accounts. ❌

🛠️ Additional Information & IMAP Options

  • By default, Mailbird Next will try to use the Exchange protocol.

  • If you'd prefer to use IMAP, you can:

    1. Choose Other email provider instead of Microsoft 365.

    2. Click Edit server settings during setup to configure IMAP manually.

📌 Note: To use IMAP, ensure that SMTP Auth is enabled in your Microsoft 365 organization settings. Find out more about how to enable SMTP Auth here.
