ℹ️ Overview
Mailbird Next includes a dedicated Privacy Hub that provides clear insight and control over how your data is handled, alongside Mailbird Next’s full suite of privacy features.
Designed to inspire confidence, the Privacy Hub supports everyone from casual users to those in professional or privacy-conscious environments, allowing you to tailor Mailbird Next's behavior to match your preferences and expectations.
❓ What Is the Privacy Hub?
The Privacy Hub is a centralized privacy dashboard inside Mailbird Next that helps you:
Choose whether to block images in emails to prevent sender tracking
Enable Mailbird Next's Block Sender feature
Enable Email Tracking
Choose whether or not to share anonymized performance and usage data
Instead of digging through multiple menus or documentation, everything privacy-related is available in one clear and accessible location.
⚙️ How Does the Privacy Hub Work?
🔍 1. Enable Privacy Mode
Privacy Mode lets you activate the core privacy features of the Privacy Hub all at once, providing a quick and convenient way to enhance your privacy settings.
When enabled, Privacy Mode:
Blocks Remote Images
Activates the Block Senders feature
Activates Email Tracking for your sent emails
You can still toggle each feature individually at any time.
🚫🖼️ 2. Block Remote Images
Blocking remote images in emails helps protect your privacy by preventing senders from tracking when you open email messages. This type of tracking is commonly done using a tracking pixel, which is a tiny, invisible image embedded in an email.
When remote images are blocked, some emails may not display exactly as intended because images are not loaded. However, the sender of that email message will not be able to detect whether the email was opened.
Mailbird Next gives you flexible control by allowing you to:
Always allow remote images from trusted senders
Display images on a per-email basis
This lets you balance privacy with readability.
🚫👤 3. Block Senders
The Block Sender feature in Mailbird Next helps you stop unwanted emails from reaching your inbox, giving you greater control over your email experience. Once a sender is blocked, their messages are automatically filtered so that they do not appear in your inbox, and you can focus on other people's email messages.
Some key points:
Review, manage, or unblock senders at any time at the bottom of the Privacy Hub menu
Block individual email addresses directly from an email using the three-dot menu
More information on this feature can be found here.
👁️ 4. Track Sent Emails
Email Tracking is a productivity feature that lets you see if and when your emails are opened by the recipient(s).
Your privacy remains protected, because Mailbird :
Cannot see your tracking data/information
Mailbird cannot store, share, or access tracking information
For more information on this feature, click here.
📊 5. Share Performance and Usage Data
Sharing anonymous performance and usage data helps us improve Mailbird Next by understanding how features are used. For example, it allows us to see how often specific integrations are enabled or how widely adopted new features are.
Importantly, sharing this data:
❌ Does not allow Mailbird to read or analyze email content
❌ Does not involve Mailbird selling or monetizing customer data
❌ Does not bypass macOS system-level privacy permissions
🧭 How to Access the Privacy Hub
To open the Privacy Hub in Mailbird Next:
Open Mailbird Next
Click on the Shield icon at the bottom of the interface
From there, you can review your privacy settings and adjust them at any time.
