📧 Fixing Yahoo Authentication Issues in Mailbird Next
If you're having trouble connecting your Yahoo email account to Mailbird Next, don't worry. This article will walk you through the most common causes and how to address them.
🔐 Step 1: Double-Check Your Credentials
The most frequent cause of Yahoo authentication issues is simply incorrect username or password input.
You may see the following error message:
[AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] AUTHENTICATE Invalid credentials
✅ What to do:
-
Ensure that your Yahoo username and password are typed correctly.
-
If you’ve forgotten your password, go to Yahoo Mail and reset your password.
-
Once updated, try reconnecting your Yahoo account in Mailbird Next using the new credentials.
🔒 Step 2: Enable Access for Third-Party Apps
If your credentials are correct but the error persists, it might be due to a Yahoo security feature that blocks access from apps which it deems "less secure."
🛡️ Note: This does not mean that Mailbird Next is unsafe: we use the strongest possible encryption to connect to all mail servers. Yahoo simply flags any non-Yahoo app that connects using basic login methods.
📌 To fix this:
Enable access to your Yahoo account for Mailbird by following Yahoo’s official guide called How to enable apps that use less secure sign-in.
