⚠️ Overview

While rare, the Internal Database Error in Mailbird Next can be frustrating. This issue is often caused by a minor hard disk problem or a local system error, but the exact cause can vary from device to device. Although Mailbird is displaying the error message, the problem is not actually rooted in Mailbird Next.

Below is an example of how this error may appear on your screen:

🛠️ How to Fix the Error

To resolve the issue, you’ll need to delete a specific folder named Release. This will disconnect your email accounts in Mailbird Next, so you’ll need to re-add them afterward. Here's how you do this.

📋 Step-by-Step Instructions

  • 🔒 Close Mailbird Next
Ensure that the app is not running. Exit it completely before proceeding.
  • 🔍 Open Finder
Right-click on the Finder icon and select Go to Folder.
  • 📂 Go to the Mailbird data folder
Paste the following path into the field and press Enter:
    ~/.local/share/MailbirdNext/
  • 🗑 Delete the ‘Release’ folder
In the new Finder window, locate the Release folder and delete it.
  • 🔄 Restart Mailbird Next
Open Mailbird Next again. You’ll now need to re-add your email accounts.
