🖥️ Overview

Some Mailbird for Mac users, particularly those using ARM M Series MacBooks with external 4K monitors, may experience blurry or fuzzy text. This is a known macOS issue that affects various applications, not just Mailbird for Mac, and is unfortunately beyond our control. However, the issue may impact either all apps displayed on an external monitor, or only certain ones, depending on one's setup.

🧪 Suggested Workarounds

While this issue may not be fully resolvable, the steps below have helped some customers improve display clarity:

  •  Reduce the HiDPI Resolution
    • Lower your monitor's resolution by 50%. For example, from 3440 x 1440 to 1720 x 720. This can enhance the sharpness of text and UI elements.
  • Use a USB-C to DisplayPort Cable
    • Using a USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable instead of HDMI can increase your monitor’s refresh rate to 60Hz, resulting in better overall image quality.
  • Try the BetterDisplay App
    • The third-party app BetterDisplay allows you to create custom HiDPI resolutions. Many customers have had success with their resolution set to 1920 x 804. This offers a good balance between text clarity and screen space.
